Ambitions was formed in Connecticut in 2005 with two goals in mind: to have fun and to create music that was a departure from the current music scene. Lyrically and musically, the band attempts to tackle themes of introspection and self-exploration, or "coming to terms with the disparity between our youthful aspirations and the reality of the world," according to vocalist Jay Aust. Started by current guitarists of With Honor, Jay and Jeff Aust, the group initially sprung from the two jamming with Jay on drums and Jeff on guitar. They would soon bring in With Honor drummer John Ross to cement the lineup, who literally learned the songs during the recording of the first demo. With the help of friend and producer Greg Thomas, the group completed the "No Limits" demo in just several days at his Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, CT. The demo was a product of many shared duties: Jay recorded the vocals, 2nd guitar, and bass, Jeff tracked 1st guitar and bass, and John completed drums and bass. The demo was passed around the scene and an immediate following was built for Ambitions, especially throughout the north east. In 2007, their debut EP "Question" dropped on Think Fast! Records. To date, the record received some of the best press any Think Fast! band had received, including noteworthy write ups from PunkNews.org and PastePunk. The band was often compared to the likes of Ignite, Shelter, and Rise Against. Ambiitons would make the jump to Bridge 9 Records and disband shortly thereafter, playing what was to be their final show in 2008. Since then, they've made a few sporadic one-off appearances - we're crossing our fingers for a new record!
