With a traditional brand of stripped down, fast paced hardcore/punk, Maine's own Wake Up Call was influenced by those who paved the way for the genre - yet they still had a style they could comfortably call their own, mainly due to charismatic frontman, Aaron Billon. Billon's vocals gave the songs a refreshingly new dimension, offering a very old school hardcore feel, comparable to the likes of Warzone or Underdog. With a simple, clean song structure, plenty of back up vocals, and solo hooks, "One Eye Open" was simply a flawless debut, and prior to their breakup in 2009, Wake Up Call's live shows were well known in Maine as near riot-inciting.
